Musky fishing Wisconsin - The St Louis River

Looking for trophy muskies? The St. Louis River, a tributary of Lake Superior, is the place to be. The lower Eau Claire river in the southeast part of Douglas County joins the St. Louis River in the northwest.
The St. Louis river is wide and shallow, feeding Lake Superior. It does have Leech Lake strain and "true" muskies in it. It is a major spawning artery for Lake Superior. It is a stained tributary. 46" to 48" musky are caught regularily on the lake.
There are other lakes in Douglas County to target if the action on the St. Louis is slow. The tri-lakes of Amnicon, Dowling, and Lyman are fast actionlakes that have a good chance of showing a 4o" plus fish.
