Try Topwater for Muskies

Remember the slogan “Just Do IT”. Well, that’s my message/tip for topwater lures for muskie and pike. Most folks don’t try them enough. Many of those who use them often – only use them during the warm water period. Surface lures can be a deadly presentation. Muskies learn that the surface is an edge prey can’t go beyond and experience shows them they can be pretty successful cornering prey there. Surface lures should be an option all season long (with the exception of deep-holding fish). They work in cooler water temperatures too. If you’ve fished all day with no success – and haven’t tried topwater lures – you’ve made a mistake.
